I think I got myself a cheap regulator, and I shouldnt have done that.

My regulator only has 1 gauge, and that is after the main tap. It also has a smaller knob at the end which I use to fine tune the flow.

What I am doing now is to leave the main tap open, and then fine tuning the smaller knob. However, my range of adjustment is less that 1 degree. 1 degree too much and I will go from 1 bubble per second to 5 bubble per second. And the flow is inconsistent. Usually at the end of the day, my 1 bubble per second stops.

I have some water in the lines before the bubble counter and after it.

Any advice would be useful at this point. Thanks!

A picture here would be worth a thousand words.

Sounds like you have an inexpensive beverage regulator.

There is really no flow control on them as you have found out.

If you live in the US (Fill in the location area in your profile. It helps us to help you knowing where you live) then the fittings you need are standard. You will need a 1/4" to 10-32 bushing and a needle valve and a good check valve.

You can't find any of those items at the local hardware store either.

You can PM or email me and I can help you out of this hole. And my advice is to NOT use the regulator till you get the right parts. It's not going to be stable and you can easily kill all your fish by using it in the state it's in.

Thanks for offering some help. I guess I shld drop by a local fish shop to get a new one. I live in Singapore, so its a long way from the states.

I got my entire CO2 set up plus regulator, diffuser, check valves and bubble counter for US$45. The deal was hard to beat.
