In my boring 'need to work' life, i'm a chef! nothing eventuful ever really happens, until about 4 hours ago. Let me explain -

it's 9pm and the final order comes on, 2 people, all very easy one oven roasted salmon and on Pork fillet stuffed with black pudding. I cook it, send it and wait! 2 minutes later the waiter is back,
'can we have some english mustard' yeah no problems there.
Another 2 minutes pass, the waiter returns
'can we have some garlic aioli and some ketchup' ok i thought they had chips/fries so that excuses the tomato sauce. the aioli sort of goes with the salmon, so thats ok. I clean my work area down and the plates return 15 minutes later, the person who had the pork had all three sauces on his meal! i couldn't believe anyone would eat it, never mind enjoy it!

does any one else enjoy combinations such as this?

I like tabasco in my catsup! Is that wierd? I mean, catsup and mustard and garlic doesnt sound that bad.

When I saw this thread title, it reminded me of going to dim sum with my boss. I forget what these things are called, but its a small portion of chinese sweet sausage, rolled in sweet jasmine rice, wrapped in tea leaves and steamed. I have a co-worker who is quite gullible, boss tells him its pig testes wrapped in tobacco leaves, while hes chewing. Gets a mean old look on his face, but says, "well it is good". This guy is a hunter......got his boar tags a few weeks after our lunch outting. Guess what happened to that poor pigs personals?

no it wasn't the sauce that put me off, it was the fact he'd had with the pork and black pudding, just didn't seem quite right.

Black pudding. Mmmmmm yum. No kidding, it's really quite good.

But it sounds so disgusting! My friend in England told me what it's made of and how it's prepared. I swore I would never try it if I ever went there. *Shivers* Uuuughh

Yer a Scot and probably ait it fer breakfast :)

I like black pudding, too, so there :D Never got into haggis, though.

When we were kids we ate regular potato chips (they didn't have any other kind back then) with ketchup and vinegar and salt. They got soggy, but it was rad! Canuck thing.

What is black pudding?

I've been told how wierd what I eat is...but now that I'm trying to think of it, I can't... I do like to put barbeque sauce on anything possible...mmmmm. I also put cayenne and chili pepper (if not real chilies) and artichokes in most things I cook.

What is black pudding?

I like yellow mustard on my pork chops.

Ok, I'm really going to gross some people out...

I like chocolate syrup with tomatoes and pickles. I eat almost everything with cottage cheese (beans, spaghetti, pot pies, potato chips, etc but NO fruit), apples with peanut butter, salsa on my baked potatoes...
:hi:
