I dont wanna sound stupid or anything, But my last tank I had set up, my brother did all the cycling and stuff for me, and now Im starting on my own
A few people have told me to add ammonia to cycle my tank. But I dont understand how to do that. Is this like normal ammonia they sell in the grocery store? Or the ammonia that comes from the fish tanks. How much am I supposed to add? I have a 35g tank if that helps. I bought some Stress Zyme, but I heard that its not that good and that I should use ammonia instead

There is a way to get ammonia naturally, and it is at least well-reasoned by WetmanNY, if not tested by him.

Humans apparently excrete it through urination.

Now, here's the deal. There are all sorts of sources of ammonia out there, some which are way off the wall but I would think effective like this one, but, yes, you could use supermarket ammonia if you please. Just make sure to get bacteria from another tank first (and they don't live in quantity in the water column...you need gravel or filtration from a mature aquarium).
