I have some blue acara babies and it seems like the average growth while competing in a tank with some platies, cherries, shrimp, angels, cories, and otos is about 1/2 inch after maybe 3 or 4 months. I do have one baby that is massive at maybe 1-1 1/4 inch. He is colorful too. So what is the average growth rate for Blue Acara Fry?

ok i have about 20 babies that are in my 20g in my signature, and they have been i there for about 3 months, and are approx 1-1.5". they are the only fish in there except for a tiger pleco.

from my observations i have noticed that blue acaras grow the fastest between the sizes of 2" and 4" then they slow down their growth again. or maybe it was because i have run out of beef heart and am waiting for frozen food to run out so i can buy more.

I had two in a 150 gallon tank....

both were purchased at under an inch, and one grew steadily while the other didn't at all!
One day the little one was found dead, but it didn't seem to be from aggression.

The other has grown from under 1 inch to around 4" in 6-8 months. So pretty slow....
