I have 2 Malayan Aqua Ferns and 3 Baby Tears which are about 4 inches tall... I just purchased them and placed them in the tank 2 days ago... How long do they take to root and to begin growing and getting tall?

Reason I'm wondering is because I have 2 Gouramis in the tank and it's beneficial to have tall planting for them...

Thanks

How fast they grow is going to depend on your light levels, nuitrients, water quality, C02 availabilty, etc. Can you give more info on what your tank set up is?

It's a 29 Gallon with an AquaCLear 30 Running, a 150 W heater and a flourescent bulb branded Aqua Bio Plant, 25 F.... not sure on wattage...

Just looking for a rough estimate so I know if I should buy some fake plants for the time being

Wishful is right. Depends on your setup. Could be from 1 inch every 2-3 months to 1 inch per day. Lights (wattage, CO2, nutrients, ect all effect growth).

Example -- I throw away about 1/2 pound of Wisteria away every week or so. I started with just a sliver.
