It's helped me lower my blood pressure. Though I have to admit, when there's a problem, it can have the opposite effect...

Having an artificially moonlit tank next to my bed has helped with my insomnia as well, though again, some night it can be what causes it! :P

haha I can't sleep without my fish tank light on lol :D:D:p

I am bipolar, and have been seeing a counselor about some stuff for a while now. He suggested I find a hobby that takes time, patience, something to study, compare notes with other people..while also having to SAVE MONEY for expensive items, value things, take good care of something religiously ...so I decided to build a reef.

Sure, things go wrong. I lost a few fish from making foolish mistakes in the beginning, but I have become a calmer, wiser person keeping these fishies. And of course taking medication. :)

Fish have helped in my recovery. They have a calming influence and have helped in improving concentration and comprehension among other things.

I wanted a pet, but I don't like cats and travel too much for a dog. Fish are perfect solution. I can leave them home alone, they don't chew the furniture or bark at night. No one warned me about the multiplying tanks though.

It helps my ocd and add like you wouldn't believe.

You don't like CATS?! You are an evil person. (I'm kidding BTW) Yea, nobody told me about MTS either but I suppose most successful treatments have side effects.
