you need to reduce from a facet to 1/4" tubing.. by reducing you can get alot of pressure.. up to 40pounds. so it will almost like a power wash...

you can get premade or home made reducer...

this will work well with, all kind of filter pads.. and micron pads/bags..

quick tip: for your prefilter / cotton pads... never twist or ball up... just blast away...

Or you can also just get what's called a sweeper nozzle in the lawn and garden part of any home store like Lowes, Home Depot, etc...simply screw it onto the hose like it's designed for...no need to re-invent the wheel here.
 
I just put my finger by the outlet to make a strong jet of water. :)
 
I use a hose with a jet nozzle on it..puts out a lot more water than my faucet. Good idea though, for those with limited space, apartments, etc.

i have tried that... but the water pressure is not there ... ;)
