how long a test kits good for?

i use the ap test kits. i have most of them. just was thinking how long are they good for?

I have an API pH test kit which I bought in 1994. I used it the other day and I have compared it to a newer test kit and the results are right on. pH chemicals are usually pretty stable. But I have found that ammonia test kits and water hardness kits, GH and KH, expire after just a few years.

Mine have expiration dates on the reagents.
