How long does prime stay available in the water?

Just kinda wondering how long prime stays useful in the water column.
ie if i put prime in day one, would adding tap water day 2 still be neutralized if added directly to the tank? Day three? etc

Your best answer would come from Seachem. However, my best guess is that it's best not to count on it after more than 4-6 hours.

Good advice...ask the manufacturer. I can't find it right now, but there was a topic on this just a while back that had some links about that. If I remeber correctly, don't count on it after 6-8 hours.

Curious, why would you not just add more prime?

This was mostly just a curiosity thing, unless it lasted for a long time then i could be useful to know.

I was wondering how long after adding prime to water does its effects last. ie how long can i add water straight from tap and still have prime neutralize the chlorine.

Prime will only work for about 24-48 hours after being placed into your tank. Please let us know if you have further questions.

How do you dose prime for top offs? The whole tank volume or just how much water you added?
