About how long does it take a amazon sword plant to make other plants? I have had one for about a month, and it has really long roots but no other plants are coming up. Also how can I keep my camboa(i think it is spelled wrong) planted on the substrate, i have to plant it every day.
And finaly are Melon Swords good for a low light tank?
I realy want a nice planted aquarium, could any one tell me good lowlight plants and where to place them in the aquarium.

Melon is a fast grower and so is typically a medium-hight light plant. but I'd say if you can grow Cabomba you can grow Melon Sword. They have roughly the same demands on nutrients and light.

Cabomba and other stem plants can be tied together and weighted down. Most LFSs sell lead strip weights that you can cut and bend around a bunch of stems. This is how I keep my Hygro from floating. Seems to work well for me.

As for other low light plants, Anubias and a Microsorum (java fern) are among my favorite. Both should be tied to a rock or piece of wood to take hold. Cryptocoryne is a great low light plant that can be planted in the substrate. All three plant groups feature a large variety of shapes and sizes that will work will in just about any aquarium.
