Hey everyone,

How many Bettas could live happily in a 3 Gallon Marineland Bio-Cube? (Bio-Wheel with mesh/carbon filter)

Thanks.

Thanks! Could anything else be an acceptable tank mate; like an African Dwarf Frog?

Depends on the betta. Some are good with roomies, and some are not. Its kindof a tossup.

My male Betta does great with his roomies in his 5 gallon tank. 3 common guppies and two mystery snails. Hope that helps:)

3 gallons is abit small for a betta if u gonna add some company ...
even in a 50g tank oneday he may wake up and decide the tank is not big enough for anyone but himself ... !

3 gallons is not large enough, IMO, for even one betta. it 'can' be done, but the fish is not happiest in that small a space. bettas love having room to swim. mine did laps of their 10 gallons constantly, lol. 5 gallons minimum, filtered and heated. in a 5 you could keep possibly one apple snail as well, if the betta doesn't decide to be a meanie and peck at it.

Do you have female or male bettas?
I had 2 females, but one was a bully and had to seperate them. (To little space can cause this too, that being said from experience.) (I've heard some can get 4 females to get along in a 10g, others think that's not near enough room.)

Not sure how much space you would need, but when I had some neon tetras they got along fine with the betta.
Had some rosy red minnows in with each of the girls at one time or another, and they usually got along. (The bully did pick a little when there was just one minnow, but did less so when there were 3.)

The neons were only ever in with the gentler female, the only time I saw her pay them much attention was when I first put them in. She went right up to them and 'sniffed' them, it looked so funny LOL!

I agree with a bigger tank; my male betta seems very happy in his 10 gallon. He made a big bubble nest today too! :)

Cory Cats do well with bettas (mine does), but I wouldn't recommend it with a small 3 gallon tank.
