I am going to be breeding guppies in two 10 gallon tanks. How many guppies would you prefer I keep in my 10 gallon tank? And how many of those should be males or females. The fry will be moved to the other 10 gallon tank, and if the tanks get too crowded, the guppies will be moved to a 29 gallon tank.

Guppies can be stocked heavily without problems. They do not have a great bio-load. You can easily keep 20 in a 10 gallon tank. Just make sure you have 2-3 females for each male. I have been keeping and breeding them and have no problems with a heavy stocking as long as you don't add them all at once. I stock a maximum of 20 for every 10 gallons of water. I usually go 10 more than the tank size (i.e. 20 gal=30, 29gal=40 +/-). For tanks that are planted I go way over on stocking and I also go way over on filtration. Works well for me.

:iagree:
I overstock my guppy tanks too, without any issues. Tanks are heavily planted and over-filtered :) Works wonderful!
