That is a good idea. Why don't you get a bigger tank. Maybe you can put it in that walkway right above the stairs. You can talk your mom into that one. HEHEHE!

to clarify, and because there is another similar thread by a different member concerning a 10G cichlid tank, I think we're all presuming your 10G is a normal shaped tank, and not a tall hex.
I also agree bigger would be much better, even a 20G would make a huge difference
