how much ammonia does it take to raise the measurement up 1 ppm. how many drops?
i use an old eyedropper and i dropped in 30 drops, but it is only a .50

i have a 26 gallon tank btw.

I toss in about four or five cap fulls of ammonia on a 90g and get close to 2-3 ppm....not that I am an expert by ANY means but some advice from my mistakes....make sure you have a good liquid test kit, Dont count on test strips for solid results and make sure you read instructions and wait appropriate time for color results to develop (my first 2 weeks I had soooo much ammonia in my tank because I didnt wait 5 minutes and kept dumping in ammonia until I had color change immediately! Hate to ponder what my pph (parts per hundred :P) I had ). Hope your cycle goes well :))))

quoting myself (makes me senile, right?)

It's all easier if you use excel or another converter...
1st, convert gallons to liters (because liters are about the same as kilograms)
1/1000000 of a Kg is a mg
1cc=1mL=1g=1000mg aqueous liquids (again, it's close)
There are about 20 drops per cc from most eye-droppers
when you have a liquid solution (ammonia, ferts etc.), you divide your desired weight of whatever by the %whatever is in the solution

for example, you want 5ppm ammonia in a 100L tank, 100L=100Kg so you need 500mg ammonia. If your foam-free cleaning solution is made of water & 10% ammonia, you need 500mg/10%=5000mg solution.
5000mg=5mL

edit - thanks eyeman, the link you reference is a bit more detailed (I forgot abt that one :: takes anti-senility pill ::).

Squakbert has a formula there to help.

Basically...2tsp (10ml) will give you about 5PPM or 1tsp (5ml) for 2.5PPM OR 2ml for 1PPM....assuming your ammonia concentration is 4-5% as most sold in stores for cleaning is.
