I've only found two LFS that currently sell RCS, and they were both asking for $4-5 per shrimp. Another LFS only had sakura shrimp, but he mentioned that he was getting them at such a cheap price, he was selling them for practically the same cost ($6-7 per shrimp). This seems really pricey considering I can get these for roughly ~$1 each online + shipping. So, how much are the RCS at your LFS?

$2.75 I think at my regular LFS. The ones they have aren't that great looking though not dark at all. They also have Amano's for like $7, ghosts $1 for like 10.

One of the other shops I goto occasionally has a variety of shrimp but expensive, cherries for $6.

I try to support my LFS's whenever possible but other then feeder shrimps I won't buy any FW shrimp from them when I can do much better online. When I started my cherry colony I only paid $1 each shipped.

The LFS I get them from grows all their own, they don't look super dark but they're the cheapest I've found in a brick and mortar store. It's very common for the markup to be high on RCS, it's like they don't realize how cheaply they can be bought online from hobbyists...

Mine is usually around $4 too. Even the blue pearls and bee shrimps are cheaper at $1.50 to $2. Their shrimp tanks are mixed though so most likely the neocardina shrimps are breeding together.

$5 a piece. CRS are $20 each. Their shrimp tanks look a bit empty. I wonder if people do actually buy them. I'm tempted to ask them if I could be a supplier.

Hm, so I guess my local prices aren't too outrageous. I think I'll wait for spring and order a batch of 20 or so online. Even if I lose half, I'd still probably be ahead over buying at the LFS.

I bought mine on aquabid 30 for $30 shipped and came with a few extras in case a few didn't survive the trip but they were all alive when I got them.

one of my lfs's told me a while back that i could order like 500 @ $3-$4 Ea. if i wanted them to get them in for me so they don't lose $$$ on a 1000 piece order...

i've avoided that place as much as i could ever since.
