How much do you see your Amano shrimp?

If the betta picked at them at some point, they will probably stay hidden for a while. Just normal survival instinct. I have 25 in a 55G and they are all over the place since none of my fish including dwarf chain loaches are interested in them. Aside from red claws, they are pretty bold inverts and will go head to head with other fish to grab pellet food.

They're still alive - I've seen different shrimp a few times over the past week, but they still stay mostly hidden.

Try dropping a little bit of those shrimp wafer in there...the Amano's I had(RIP) came blasting out of wherever they were to hunt those down and usually snagged the whole thing and swam off with it to hog it. <sniff> miss those guys
