How much does an All-Glass brand 10 gallon tank cost?

hey now,

I have been everywhere looking online trying to compare prices on all-glass aquariums, but have now come to the conclusion that reputable dealers online most likely do not hassle selling all glass tanks due to them being so fragile when shipping.

I have never put together an aquarium before, and am trying to see what my cost range is gonna be for a 10 gallon tank and all its pieces in order to have a very succesful tank.

so how much is an All-Glass brand 10 gallon tank ?

thanks so much!

take care,
Jared

A LFS has them here for $8.95. Same price as the one's carried in Walmart in the same town. It's just the tank though. No lighting, hood, etc...

thats cheap!

wow!!

that is cheaper than I thought. The ones on e-bay must be a rip off. Two different people were selling an all-glass 10 gallon aquarium with a buy it now price of 19.99 plus 18 dollars shipping!!

that is good news! Maybe this wont be so expensive after all.

Check Wal-Mart. Seems like they have a 10 gallon kit for around $20-25. I got one from there a while back to put a California Newt in, but the kit was for fish. I still have it for a hospital tank(just in case), and currently have the filter that came with it running as an additional filter for my 20 gallon.

You may want to just get a cheap tank with out the kit from Wal-Mart, and check the pet stores for better quality filters, etc.

Wal-Mart sells cheap aquariums, but I would be cautious about buying any fish from them. They tend to be kept in some of the worst conditions in my opinion, and probably everyone's on this forum for that matter.

*Now that I'm thinking about 10 gallons from wally world, my mother got a hex shaped plastic 10 gallon kit form there that looked really nice. It was all 1 piece of plastic, no seams. Catch is, the way the lid was made, it was a pain in the *** to feed the fish, change water and pretty much do anything to it except look at it.*

I wouldn't order it. Surely you can find a much better deal locally. Plus, you don't have to pay high shipping costs and you can take it home right then.

all-glass

now youa re talking about the brand all-glass right? Does walmart sell the all-glass brand or is it some no name aquarium for 10 bucks?

If walmart does sell all-glass brand that cheap i will be there tomorrow!!!

The tank shouldn't run much more then $10.

If you're setting up a new aquarium, I'd recommend looking through your local classifieds and seeing if there's anything in there. You're not likely to find anything smaller then 30 gallons are so, but secondhand tanks are cheap (55's w/ accessories routinely run for around $100-$150 around here).

It's generally a good idea to get the largest tank tank that you're comfortable with, since larger tanks are easier to keep (within reason).
