im trying to repair my golfish's fins after a bout with fin and tail rot ....the stress coat says to do that put 2 tsp per 10 gallons.....can you do that daily (im using prime to take out the chlorine and all that) when i do water changes wich i am doin daily....so can i use the prime with the stress coat and specifically can i do the 2tsp per 10 gallon daily????

If the instructions say to treat daily or on a set schedule (every 1st, 3rd and 5th day, for instance) follow that schedule and treat the actual volume of water in the tank. If it says it's for treating new water, or if the directions are unclear, I'd treat the whole tank once and then just treat the water you prepare for WC.

I doubt the carbon will remove Stress Coat, as it is, I believe, primarily a water conditioner and carbon doesn't remove Prime.

If you're using Prime, I don't believe that you also need Stress Coat as they appear to perform all the same jobs. This is from Seachem's website:

"Prime® removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Prime® converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank’s biofilter. Prime® may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime® detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. Prime® also promotes the production and regeneration of the natural slime coat. Prime® is non-acidic and will not impact pH. Prime® will not overactivate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water."

Hope this is helpful.

i have been keeping the water clean....and now im looking at the lone survivior and his eyes have white cloudiness covering them....so im considering using another doese of the binox?

The problem is wherever you got the fish, the water was probably not as pristine as yours.... so with you keeping up on the changes, he is going through a sort of shock.... what is happening now is he is developing "cloudy eye" which is often a secondary infection. Cloudy eye has no shelf med remedy. The only thing to clear cloudy eye is through pristine water conditions. Unfortunately, some fish succumb to this... best of luck for yours.

you may just be wasting your money on these chems to add in hopes of curing him.... you can try salt (from the pet store in the med section) but that's as far as I would go aside from the once daily water changes. The worst thing about the disease is holding onto your patience. By adding too many different meds to the tank, you could be doing more harm than good.

i have salt in the tank.....like i said i have tried all the advice....the only med i used was binox for 4 days then did a water change and put the carbon filter back in....i really dont want to lose him...i have 6 year old twins and they are really upset about losing the other two......if i do lose him how soon can i replace him...i know it may sound silly but i told the kids the other two were on vacation visiting the ocean...so if he dies i want to atleast replace him...is this disease now in my water?
