About an hour on a day-to-day basis. When I get a little free time it is spent almost entirely on my tanks. I think "too much" would have been the best answer for me. :D

It varies. I only have one tank right now...some days I'll spend over an hour just watching the fish. I'm hooked, and am planning more tanks. (Still have to set up my new 20g) :)

If I'm actually doing a vac/water change, it ends up being around an hour, but other than that, I wish I watched them more and actually enjoyed the fish. I joke around that they should be paying me rent or something.

Easily 40 out of the last 48 hrs :D
between research, observation feeding, water testing, boiling driftwood, messing with the plants in the small tank... oh and I had to rescue the betta who got his fins sucked up around the filter intake lol.

'Normally' though, I'd say it averages to between one and two hours a day counting readin and actually 'doing stuff.' I'm Not counting just looking at em.
I have a tank on the kitchen table, where I eat, and one on my desk where I work. 'office' is also my living room.. I dont have a tv... U figure it out :dive2:
this got me thinking...
Then theres the time spent gathering up rocks and driftwood. window shopping ... watching classifieds etc. for free or affordable tanks, travelling to get them, lurking in pet stores ( well, I have to get things for the dogs there, don't I? I can't help it if I happen to strike up a convo with the nice lady buying two comets for her 1 gallon bowl, can I? always smart to see whats on sale, isn't it?.. )
Does time spent at tanks in public places count? There's one at the gym. and the one in the window of that resturaunt is practically right on the way to the grocery store...
maybe thats just me.. but I know ya'll spend some time in here...I'd be willing to bet you spend more time at places like malls and big stores than I do... you don't check out the tanks while youre there?
come on pple fess up :D

1 hour

It's about one hour per day, or 7 hours a week on tank cleaning and such, 3 hours once a week plus 2 hours twice a week on the discus tanks... then there are club meetings, shopping online and in stores, and forum time --- you didn't mean to include that too did you? If so, then add 7 hours a week online and maybe 4 hours a week avg on clubs or conventions or auctions or similar.

oops. I only read "How many hours a week do you spend on this hobby?"
i didnt read the specific question once i openned the thread. :duh:
in THAT case, just forget what i said b4.

It depends on the day. Usually, I just feed them and watch them for a bit, which would be 10 minutes. But in a week, I change water twice, and each time it takes about 30 minutes, so about 1 hour a week for water changes, and 10 minutes a day for feeding/watching, so that totals up to 2 hours and 10 minutes a week.

The "watching" throws me off. My routine upkeep is easily done in an hour a day. But planning a new or reset tank requires much more time, more in planning (plotting and scheming) than in the actual setup. Watching varies tremendously. If you count were to ask for web time also, my guestimate would go up again.
