how much watt does an emperor 400 use?

also, would 2 of them be inappropriate for a 80 gallon? if i could just use one i would prefer to use one

Im currently raising 1 silver arowana, 1 common pleco and 1 koi fish

i usually cut the "up to" rating a filter claims in half, that is what you should assume it can handle. so if it says "up to" 80 gallons, assume it can only handle 40.

tank is too small for the arowana and the koi, which shouldnt be mixed in the first place.

the arowana i plan to keep.. prolly going to give the koi away... is there any compatible tank mates for the arowana... few otos perhaps?

Usually there is a power rating on the filter - like 120V (Volt), 0.5A (Ampere)
Multiply both and you get what it should use max per hour.
According to some research the Emperor 400 draws 0.16 Amps so would use roughly 20W. I don't own one myself so i can't check but you should be able to.
