How often to feed adf?

My little ADF looks great, but I worry. I know they're sensitive and I don't want him to get sick before I know there's trouble. How often is normal to feed them and how much should they eat each time?

Thanks!

I'm still trying to figure it out. We have two of them. One is very active. The other is far quietier. I have fed live black worms and they ate them pretty well. I am now feeding thawed frozen blood worms. I also have some frog and newt pellets that I feed occasionally.

They are not like the fish in that when the food comes out, they go right to eatin'!

I think they like to eat at night better than the daytime. I put food in, right in front of them and the sometimes eat, sometimes don't but when I come back in a few hours or overnight, it's gone.

People consider ADF as stupid frogs, seeing they won't hunt for food, even if food just passes over their head. Usually having to turkey baster blood worms right in front of their face.

But I got the complete opposite, my ADFs actually eat the bloodworms off the waters surface.

I used to target feed mine every other day, a couple of worms a piece. In between they would eat what floated by from me feeding the fish. I found that putting a small dish out of the direct flow of the filter and using a turkey baster to target feed, helped build a "routine" with feeding. After awhile, they would come to the dish at feeding time and almost eat out of the end of the turkey baster.

Okay, so it sounds like mine is eating pretty well. I'm going to try the little dish--I have a tiny little saucer from a mini tea set that will be very cute in the tank...I'll have continental frogs. I'm going to give that boiled blood worms thing a try, too. Thanks, all!

I know this is gross, but I have to ask it...are frogs supposed to eat fish poo? Does this mean he's not getting enough to eat?

They have very bad vision and eat by scent. Frog bites sink fairly well if you don't want to break out the bloodworms every day.

I'll give the frog bites a try...I'm liking feeding the bloodworms by hand, but I'm sure there will be times when I don't have time---and he or she (since I have no clue) needs variety anyway.

My new question: When I feed bloodworms, I give the frog 4 or 5 with tweezers and he's learned not to strike at them...he knows what's going on and he probably doesn't like bumping his little nose on the tweezers. What a smart guy! (girl?) Anyway, he eats like a maniac then he spits them all (4 or 5) up, still whole. Then he eats them again and they stay down.

He seems well and is very active for an ADF... he swims and pokes around most of the time. He was pale when I got him, but he's getting a little color and some spots and his belly is a little bit rounded and not so skinny now, but not bulgy either. I think he looks good. So am I feeding him too much and that's why he spits up or is it normal and his way of "collecting" and enjoying later?
