How old is your pleco?

OK, this is my first time posting a poll on this forum, so we'll see how it goes.

I realized that my gigantic (3") clown pleco is now 13+ years old...that is, I've had him over 13 years now and he came in at about the exact same size. Obviously, he must be older than the 13 years I've had him, but for voting purposes I've place my vote in the 12-14 year category.

I'm curious how old your oldest pleco is or was.

For convenience, use the age grouping above the for years you'd had your pleco and don't try to guess who old it was when you got it (unless you know because you got it from a friend or in some other way).

I have an L240 pleco that was the first pleco I ever bought, 8 years ago. It was 3" when I got it, and is now about 7". This is it at a young age:

Nice looking pleco! I used to have a good photo of my little guy, but it's apparently on a CD somewhere when I switched computers some point in the past. I'll try to get a new picture and upload it today or tomorrow.

Heres my hi fin spotted pleco, i got him at most 8 months ago and he is easily 5 to mabye 6 inches.

I had a 1.5yr P. J. pleco, got him at 2in, he was 8.5in when he recently and unexpectedly passed. He was an awesome fish. If I could be 100% sure I was getting the same species, I would.

Cool...several older plecos - I'm not alone. I knew they theoretically could live that long, but it's nice to see reports of others keeping plecos that long in an aquarium. Here's my clown pleco:

I've only owned this guy about 5 years, but he was about 5 when I got him, so put me down for the 10 year old club.

My uncle grew standard pleco to almost 18 in. in an outdoor pond, traded him to LFS 3 years ago at age 12 and as far a I know it is still alive.

I've had my common pleco for almost 12 years. He was 1.5" when I got him. He is now about 10"
