I want to cut a 4X8 and then glue two acrlyc tanks into one L-shaped tank. I will use silicon glue to waterproof the the edge. The tanks size is 18X20X60.

How should I make the cut?
How close to the edge the cut needs to be?
What glue do I need to use?
Howwide should the glue application be?
Would glue be enough to keep the the two sides toegether?

Thanks,

I don't believe silicone is useful for sealing acrylic. You need to get one of the acrylic cements that actually meld the two pieces together. Try posting this on the DIY and equipment forum and I'm certain you'll get some responses.

Also, try Googling 'acrylic' and 'cement' and you'll find a bunch of hits.

Good luck, sounds like a cool tank,

Jim

I have seen a tank like that one at an LFS once, it was an L-shaped but it was glass and like, probably like 1000 gallons, custom made of course, but it looks really cool. It was a reef tank.

BUt i would try the DIY section of AC.
