How to deal with Body of Favorite Fish - that's Passed Away?

I buried my special betta next to my pond, he wasn't the prettiest fish I've ever owned, but he was such a sweetie, and he got me into this hobby. If I didn't happen to see him looking sad at walmart I wouldn't be here.
I was so upset when Dymin died, everyone thought I was an idiot for being upset about a fish dying.

yeah i have some fish that got me into the hobby and when they die they will be properly burried bcuz ihave grown attached to them, one of them isnt in good condition right now and its rather upseting

Get a matchbox, some tissue and a cross. I hope you took care of this already .

what is viking style?
Vikings believed that that after death they would join their gods in an afterlife much like the world we live in and therefore they would need the same type of things they needed in this life so they took them with them into their graves.
Maye you could bury your fish with a keepsake from his tankand a sprinkle of food.
Sorry for your loss.

does he have anything in the tank that he liked in particular? if so maybe you could set it next to him.

I know I'm gonna catch a lot of flack for this, but even my favorite fish in the end is still just a fish. If it's small enough, it gets flushed. I haven't had any of my large fish die so I'm not sure how I'd deal with that.

Ok.... consider this "flack". Apart from the emotional part, if you are on local sewer you should NEVER flush a fish. Municipal water systems are strained enough and cannot possibly combat the possible toxins introduced by flushing a dead fish reliably. Whether you just consider it a "fish" instead of a pet, there are other issues to consider.

I will be getting Felix tattooed on me if anything ever happens to him. And knock on wood hes still flaring at himself..so i dont think I have anything to worry about. burrial sounds excellent.
