I bought some new doors to replace the nearly 25 year old doors upstairs. Anyway, as they were leaning against various walls (for a few weeks) waiting to be put in, some of them managed to get some big scratches in them. Do they sell anything that would buff those out?

sandpaper - work your way down from coarse to smooth, and re-paint/re-finish that area. or you may be able to find a scratch-filling putty that matches the color of the door. they are easy to find in hardware stores, but the trouble is getting the color right. they're only 3 or 4 bucks so you might want to try that first.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, they aren't going to be painted. That's where my problem came up, since I am not putting on a coat of anything (except maybe some type of varnish). Personally I think most painted doors look ugly.

If they are only surface scratches, try rubbing it with a half a fresh walnut

Is this a joke or is it actually supposed to work?
