I have a trio of adult dollars that have tryed to spawn in the main tank but can/wont.
Any and all sugestions needed as I know nothing about dollars (tank sitting)have owners permision to mess around with them:D

yeah for 3 adults you would need 130 gallons+ with lots and lots of big and small leaved plants(also floating) but also they need lots of swimming space best results in a hexagon or other shape tank like that

the water should be tannin stained with soft acid water and with a low light just enough for the plants to survive so low light plants should be used.with bog wood also were they choose to lay their eggs on or in the floating plants

i wish you good luck and they are very hard to breed

Plants? ROFL 5 min tops with them.
How big do they get theses are like 6-7" the red hooks in there are a inch bigger.
Is spawning time causing the black marks on fins and body?
Cant be done in a 75?
step 1 Soften the water
step 2 temp?
step 3 spawnig mat of some sort.
step 4 lighting soft and for how long?
step 4 special foods? dont realy know what they like other than flake.

yeah soft water or do you meen how do soften the water
the temp shout be around 28 to 29oC
they lay the eggs in the floating plants then they fall on to the gravel but a spawning mat wouldn't hurt
with the lightinh start low then gradualy build up the intensity
food wise i would say brine shrimp or water fleas, mossy lavea
