How would you...

One would have to either abolish all religion or have the entire planet unite under a single religion or doctrine. More wars have been fought over doctrine or religion than any other reason.

Do you still play that game?

What game? I was talking about the Human Republic from Sporewiki, home of my stories and fictions.

Religion is just but one of many reasons the human race have fought in war. If religion were abolished, there would be dozens of other reasons to rally war over - land, territory, riches, natural resources (oil), nationalism , pride, etc. Neither WWI nor WWII were fought over religion. Even the biggest holy war of them all, the Great Crusades, despite being blessed by the Pope and the Catholic church as a religious war really came down to restoring access to holy sites in Jerusalem - seems like a land issue to me.

Shure religion played a part but for most of the time its for "Crown and country." The need of wealth and land by one country.

Every "religious" war is always rooted in other issues, religion is just used as a way to justify the means. (Same goes for captialism vs. communism and any other idealogical based conflicts)

Also, to those who say that peace does not exist despite nukes being used, I said "temporary peace" for that one. Fear caused by a WOMD would only last until people forget about the devastation. After the bombs were dropped, WW2 ended, and there was a short bout of peace. Then we forgot the devastation and started up war again. Thusly, the weapon needed to be more powerful, then it will have a longer lasting affect on humans.

Temporary peace? You may want to google the Korean and Vietnam Wars, unless you're refering to the short period of time (only a couple years) after WWII without any MAJOR conflicts. There were still plenty of minor ones.

Temporary peace can be a short as a single year, however, if a weapon was used that did enough damage, it would force humans, for our own self-continuation as a species, to avoid war at any cost. However, humans seem to like war... we were never meant to be this powerful.

Religion is a driving factor behind humans need for war, along with the need for resources, land to settle, and wealth. All of these needs are driven by the need to better ones own life regardless of the affect it has on other people. Humans are inherently selfish. Only by scaring us into peace, or dictating us absolutely to be peaceful, will ever allow humans to be a peaceful species. Oh, and extinction or near extinction (like what would happen if we fell into a nuclear war).
