hybird loaches take a look

i like the look of the fish but i would want to know that i am buying a hybrid as they look cool and i do want one

Definately want them. Also I don't mind hybrids as long as they don't get released into the wild.

:devil:Just what we need, the flowerhorns of the loach world :mad2:.

I think I wouldn't hate it so much if they were clearly identified & identifable as hybrids not as a "new species" or an existing pure one.

And if they were sterile like "mules" so they were only lab creations.

But I can see the appeal of, say, "mini clowns". All the good looks & personality of the tank busters in a small size. But my gut tells me the higher cost would still deter people. We love to complain about endangered animals but also about the high prices tank raised fish can command. If normal wild potential giants were cheaper many would still buy regardless of ability to properly care for them over their 20+ year lifetime.

the fact that it was ARTIFICIAL hybridization makes me upset...it looks almost exactly like a regular yoyo minus the difference in coloration ...why even do this?

ooops...just noticed that it was a yoyo loach in the pic:wall:

still dont like it
