i have an unpaired pair- they tolerate each other but shes a little intimidated i guess.

mine are under 4" and the male is in good color but my female isnt compared to the pics posted in other threads. the male is the one with the checkerboard pattern on the tail. the black stripe can come and go as an indicator of stress level, but the black dot stays.

they are not very aggresive. mine have backed down from convict, firemouth, blackbelt, and redtail blackshark.

males are supposed to max out at 10" the female at 8". thus making a pair fit in a 55g tank.

mine eat frozen blood worms, mysis shrimp, flakes, sinking cichlid pellets and occasionally get to have a nice chase and tug-a-war session with an earthworm.

do a search on this section of the message board. i think theres about 4 other good threads on them here.

i like them.
