i am a grandma

when my husband and i were cleaning out our 80 gallon bowfront and rearranging the driftwood i looked into the back of the tank by the plants there was a baby fry and it looked like a small yellow lab. can male yellow labs carry the fry in their mouths? or is it just the female labs that carry the fry and how do we take care of it? so far we saw only one:huh:

females hold the fry im not sure if any males do though. When i had my fry from my johanni we only saw one and we caught him up and put him in a fry floater and he was fine until he got sucked through the holes in the bottom, but now all we do is provide heaps of hiding spots for the babies and leave them to grow up good luck grandma lol

thanx mandy yeah we have a bunch of plants and i keep checking on the one remaining fry and it is still alive and i did find out that it is only the female that broods the eggs not the male and we do have a female cichlid the neighbor guy told us we have a female because she was brooding the eggs and i also found out that the upside down catfish will suck up the eggs when it is feeding and i guess the only one that survived is our only grandson or granddaughter LOL
