I bought some filter fiber question ...

I bought some filter fiber its
100 percent polyester it says
that its for all aquarium filters is this
like floss?
im wondering if i should put this
in my empty media containers in
my fluvals or should i buy ceramic rings,
or should i just leave the empty ones empty
as they are now ? hmm :thud:

Floss

That is considered fine media, used in last container, but I'd put a harder sponge over it to keep any fibers from getting wound around the impellor.

As it is fine, you will need to change it often, sometimes I check the filter and just trade for new floss or padding, not doing a full cleaning.

Yes- switch it out often.
I buy the big rolls from Big Al's, so it is very economical to use.
I get something like 20 sq ft for $9.99. I cut it to fit in my Penguin cartridges, my big Eheim cannisters, and the drip tray on my reef tank.
