Sooo a few weeks ago I was at Walmart for some reason and I looked at their fish. Mistake #1. Looking right back at me were several Snow White socolofi As many of you know I recently ordered a group of snow whites form my lfs only to have all but one die from disease.
Well I ended up getting the ones from Walmart. I QT them for a week until they started picking at each other. I moved them to a smaller tank and over the next week they continued to nit pick at one another but I had no loses. After a 2 week QT I took the largest and healthiest looking ones and moved them to the main tank. I gave the smaller ones a few extra meals in the QT tank then I moved them as well. They've now been in the main tank for a week and seem to be doing very well. I have had no loses at all!
2 look weaker than the rest but most are very active and healthy looking.
I know I shouldn't buy fish from walmart but the tanks were clean and none of the other fish were sick so I decided to risk it :)
Let's hope they continue to do well.

Congrats! When i was in my cichlid faze for 2 years, i started out with healthy walmart mbunas. I soon found a private breeder where i got my hands on a lot of good stuff! Congrats again!

Congrats, But all in all you did what a educated hobbyist should do and that is to quarantine your new arrivals know matter where you got them from, good job and great homework my friend..

Wal-Mart may be a corporate giant but every now and then you run into luck, what i do is when i am in a local wallyworld i glance in the tanks to see if they labeled a African or pleco wrong and jump on it if it is something that strikes my fancy and of course they will be quarantined..
