Its pretty much a given any live bearer females you buy will be pregnant at the time of purchase. I bought 2 females a couple weeks ago, one had fry about a week ago the other is looking quite fat now.
Livebearers can store sperm also. So once hit, they can continue to have fry even when no male is present in the tank.
