hey was looking in my tanks and low and behold i was a tiny fry swimming around,.........yeah they not only mated/laid/and hatched some eggs...

unfortunately, there are snail in the tank a few red rams, but a lot of ponds so a while ago i put my 1 dwarf puffer in there to eat the ponds and either the puffer wich i don't think, at some fry or the snails ate the eggs, more likely...
or the shrimp ate the eggs or the are just starting to hatch.. anyway o removed the puffer yesterday and i've been fishing out the snails to feed my gsp, so i haope i can get most of the snails out of there and maybe i'll have some babies to sell........

Can you ship to NC? I wanna be on the list toooooooooo!

Awesome. Can you describe your setup? Tank size, flow amount/pattern, temp, water hardness, plants...etc. I want to know EVERYTHING! :D

just made it make them feel at home, they are very shy..
they are in a 15gal 24x12x12 i have a aqua clear 20 on it and inside in the rt corner is a cheap air type filter, that holds carbon/floss, which i want to replace with a sponge.

i have it loaded, with dwarf sags, and a few other plants but the sags most are tiny and grass like, they satyed down under it at all times till you turn off the lights, then they come up so i planted some adult sags hoping that they would swimm higher but nope, so i have a arched like piece of drift wood there and they love to be under cover and they come out to eat but stay under the tops of the tiny sags, they chase each other at the speed of light all day long, it helps if you have females, of cource, i spent hours in the store studying them to see who it who, and i got the first time 1m and 4 f after a few days i couldn't sleep and whent back and got another male and 3f, so i have male rivalry,
which is needed or the guys sit and watch tv all day,..
so 2 males and 7 females the females are the ones that run around. males stay under everything except to put the moves on..
its a natural river sand from the ohio river that i had left over from a barn progect that has been cleaned and sit in my yard for 6 years,.. i washed it and used peroxide and it was in the tank when i put them in there i had it set up for a couple shrimp,.. so they really love it..
its beside the picture window to the large open porch/with roof,. so they really get dusk/dawn light but indirectly,.. i think this is why they like it just like nature.. when dusky/dawn they are really active and swim up to the top portions of the tank ..
they love blood worms but have a hard time eating them. they need tubflex frozen or live but i can't find them,..
and i feed hikari frozen baby brine shrimp and crush to powder spirilla flakes and feed them a bit they love to hunt like neons so i think they prefer tiny live creatures,..
took pic of the tank, but battery on camer craped out will post later, can't take pics of fish they are too fast for the flash,.. i got a few but didn't know they were there just buzzed thru..so far i only see 1 may be arn't any more maybe i just see 1 at a time who knows if they did it once they can do it again,.. i'll just keep pumping fresh food to them and ripen their eggs or flush as us farmers say,.. they can't help but breed when full of good food..
temp is 78,..
well water, iron, hard water, right now ph is 7.8 out of tap, will get acidic in the winter ..
full of calcium/ mag but no test for it so don't know how much

Seriously :iagree: Good looks on those feeding details. Those celestial pearls are really phenomenal fish. May have just found my next project! :D I bet you've been glued to the tank trying to catch them in the act ever since, I know I would be (such a perv lol). Good luck with fry, and hopefully many more in the future!

Seriously :iagree: But add feeding regiment to Sploke's list if you could :D

i have the tank beside my lounge chair and have been watching them all the time instead of tv, so i knew they were at it just didn't think they would of hatched by now,
funny what things go on when you turn the light out????:perv:

I picked up a group of 8 of them about a month ago. I thought I got 3 males and 5 females but they were so hard to sex in the store because they were stressed so they were all washed out. I may go back and get a few more in hopes of getting some more females. I'm hoping they'll breed but no luck yet. ALthough, I have some neocaridina shrimp in the tank right now that might be eating the eggs, so I may have to move them someplace.

that is why i spent such a long time there picking them out they were almost clear but the males had a hint of black on the top and bottom of the tail fin the females much lighter, even when stressed after i got the male home and aclimented good i put them in thetank and he swan ubder the wood and came out seconds later in full color and the females a few dominate ones just a dark body but without the biegish stripe down their back, and no black on the tails but they all have black where their uh bum hole is,.. wasn't sure the correct way of saying that:)
