I had an idea.

I would probably actually zip up the bag so my cat wouldnt freak and go back inside, then I would like grab the bag with my cat and take my horse down the road to my friends house to put her in her pasture

That actually happens more than one would think. An animal knows where its safe spot is and will run to it, be it under the bed or in a closet. Doesn't register to them they are running smack into danger. I've read many news stories about horses running back into burning stables.

Any animal in my house is going to die because I'm going to make sure my family is out first.

Sad to think that some of you are more worried about fish then if your mother/father or siblings made it out.

Anyone that would "lay down their life" for their pets doesnt have much of a life worth living...Im sure your family would be thrilled to bury you because of some goldfish/ cat/ hissing cockroach whatever...
Step one- open doors
step two- run like hell

Word.

actually I have my whole life ahead of me... but I beleive it is my sworn duty,as part of the care of another living organism, to put your life to direct or indirect peril to protect it. I don't pick favorites, all my animals are important to me. and I do care about my own mother more and would try to make sure she got out first. it's not just for animals, mind you, it's for everyone. animals, people.... I have a buit-in hero instinct.

well, im only 12... so my dad would be getting my bro and mom out and ill be getting my cats

after family is out, pets are our responsibleity so i would get my cats!

This topic is very interesting. I am currently going through a certified fire school. What many people do not know is that the water that comes out of the actual fire engine(not the hydrant) gets mixed with a foam extinguishing agents, so most likely that would be toxic to the fish/tank water. If the fire was decent sized and in the room as your tanks, and heats your tnaks up decently, if your fish dont boil and the department manages to spray water into that room, if it hits the tank the glass will shatter/"explode" so either way theres not much hope if the fires in the same room as your tanks. PS.. whomever said they have they fire department carry thier tank out, unless it was a relatively small fire and already basically contained, and you tank was not anywhere near the fire itself and right near the door, theres no way i could see them doing this. even if those circumstances are met its doubtful.

Well it wouldnt be too much of a risk trying to get my cat out, she is always at my side so if it happened at night I would wake up, grab my cat, stuff her into a bag, open the window, and jump

then the horses would be outside so that isnt really a problem either

I'd just open the door and worry like hell. I know my dogs and cat are smart enough to find the ecit. If I had PLENTY of time I'd dip my shirt in water and save my betta
