I had and Idea

So while I was going through a dirty clostet I found this little coolFlash fan which is a Off brand little hand held fan.

So here is my though what if I rig it up so that it blows dirctly on the surface of my little 5 gal tank
I am thinking it will help the Oxygenation porcess and potentilay make the fish happier.

Before Posting I know that I cannot leave it on all the time, But maybe in the summer or when the power goes out.

It should cause some surface agitation, but it will also cause your tank to cool down and evaporate quicker.

You can see it for your self. Get your hand went and blow air on it with the fan. It will dry faster than it otherwise would and feel colder. This is because the moving air would allow more air to come into contact with the water in the same ammount of time, thus more water can evaporate into the air. When water evaporates it needs enough energy to go from a liquid to a gas, and it gets that energy from the other water around it causing it to cool.
