i have new platy fry!!!!!!

u have new platy fry..my female was giving birth this morning and i have about 20-30 fry!!!!!:eek3: i just bought a 5.5gal today and only put 5-8 in there........now on to the questions!!!


how long will it be before i have to feed them????? i know they will have to comusume the rest of the little bit of yolk sac they have left but how long untill i can feed them powered food???

They can start eating immediately. Just crush up flake food into TINY granules and they should eat away and grow fast. Congrats!

Congrats on the fry and as mono said you can do that. or you can get newly hatched baby brine and they will eat that.

crushed flake food is a great idea for a first food.

you may also want to get some baby brine shrimp for them also.

i dont know about the brine shrimp but i have the equpiment needed to crush food finely for them ill try that!!!!!

Congratulation on your baby platies. You can start feeding them immediately. I had recently had a platy that was pregnant. Unfortunately after she gave birth all her fry were eaten by my tanks other inhabitants. You also might to buy HBh Fry Bites or another similar type of food

Crushed flakes and BBS is the way to go IMO.
