Hi all, I had a beautiful Red betta which I thought would be a good addition to my community 30 gal tank. Well, after an overnight in there he was tattered and battered (I think by the groumi) *I know I spelled that wrong* which I only recently read makes a bad companion to a betta. Anyhow, he was more then happy to get out of there ... practically swam into the cup to get out. So I put him into his own ~ 1 gallon counter top tank. He was a mess, fins all torn up, not swimming much, very unhappy. After 1-2 days I noticed a strange swimming motion and he would spend much of his time laying or hovering just above the tank floor. He wouldn't eat either. I thought he might die so I decided to try an ick treatment ... CURE ICK ... and the next day he had the little white spots all over him. I though he was a gonner for sure at this point because I've NEVER been able to recover a sick fish in my LIFE!!! Well, for the past 1-1/2 weeks I've been vidgelant about doing the medication and changing water and to my suprise he's swimmng like normal again, eating, and his fins are starting to recover ... he's looking more and more like the betta I bought back in June.
