That won't slow the current down, the current is controlled by the motor inside the filter. There's no real way to turn it low enough to use on that tank.

should i worry that my puffers never stop eating snails until they are all eaten?? their bellys get huge!
should i ration out the snials instead? they do nothing but eat! and if they are not eating, tehy are hunting for more!

They need to be fed other things besides snails. I give mine 3-4 each 2-3 times a week. The other times I feed them frozen bloodworms, tubifex,brine shrimp, krill,or plankton.

try blood worms, that's about all they'll eat. You can't feed just snails though, they're not very nutricious. Ration the snails, keep them in another tank or container. Otherwise the puffers will eat them all until they're gone. Also, don't feed malaysian trumpet snails, only pond or ramshorn snails. The MT snail's shell is too hard for puffers and can even crack or break their beak.
Snails are okay for dwarf puffers, as long as the snails are well fed. I gut load mine be feeding them a variety of foods, including some meaty foods and veggies.
Dwarf puffers do not break shells. They suck the snail out of the shell, so the shell thickness is not important. For puffers that do crush the shell, it is relevant, but even other species will still be able to get the meat without damaging their teeth.

Hans... I don't know much about the dwarf puffers excet that I want one!!!!
