It's not really doing anything though ...
How long does it take to get bubbles?

it's already been like six hours lol :\

i noticed the packets that came with the system have a date of december 2005 on them .. is that uhh .. bad?

I think it's really yeast, if i'm not mistaken. So really the fresher the better. Odds could be that your yeast in the packet is mummified :D

I am using a DIY CO2 system in a 2L soda bottle with the hagen ladder. I'm sure you could use a similar, scaled down, formula to put in your hagen container?

Let me know how well the bubbles travel up the ladder. It's been 3 weeks and bubbles still stick to the ladder. I've been reading that it should take a few days to clear up but hello?? mine hasn't... Right now it's fine up to about 3/4 of the way up and it sticks.

I use the Hagen System with a different yeast recipe. Rather than those over expensive activator and stabilizer packets use this.

1/4 Teaspoon of Fleishman's Bread Machine Yeast
1 Teaspoon of Arm and Hammer Unscented Baking Soda
Sugar + Warm (Not Hot) Water

The recipe will run much stronger and last at least 7 days.

Try 3 cups sugar, 1/2 tsp. bakers yeast, 1/2 tsp. baking soda. Use tepid water to mix in bottle. Shake until sugar dissolved, lasts 10-14 days. Shaking the mixture up well is very imprtant as it activates the yeast. If water is too warm it will not work. If it works you should see bubbles flowing within 2-3 hours . Also I am wondering if your bottle is not sealed properly. It will leak out of the line leaving the bottle. Any bit of a leak and you are not going to have any luck at all. Also take note on the recipe as there are many many variations to use . You really have to find one that works for you, keeep tinkering away.

Yeah I plan to use my own mix ... I have these packets so I may as well use them ... I don't really think the bottle is leaking. It's hard to make it leak ... the thing is sealed really tight

I didn't shake or anything =( I did use warm water though...

still no bubbles ..grrr -- i'll also keep you informed on how well it travels up the ladder if it ever starts lol

yeah if it's not bubbling by tomorrow morning i'm going to buy my own yeast and consider this crap that came with it as a DOA
