I LOATHE THE USPS

hold the phone here. You're ranting about a shipment of non-live goods 3 days after it was shipped? I fail to see the issue here. I could understand if it was a week, or even two, but 3 days?

as for Delivery Confirmation Numbers... Kinda self-explanatory. If they were intended for tracking packages.. They'd be called Tracking Numbers.

Next time you want a package to get there yesterday, try overnight shipping (and make sure to ask for a tracking number). Or you could just pick it up yourself.

Afraid I'm going to have to agree with J double R here. I order all of my dry goods from Ken's fish. Always use USPS priority with tracking. I get a full tracking report online, and the stuff arrives as expected every time. I have been doing this with Ken for years now. In that time I have lived in 3 different parts of CT and also a couple of years in the Boston area. No issues at all.

I have a Fahaka puffer on it's way to me via Express mail tonight. I just checked and it has been processed already and has left the initial office where it was dropped off.

Delivery confirmation is a service for the sender not the addressee. It is a means to provide proof that the package was delivered or an attempt was made and the addressee did not respond. As has been said if you choose to use the cheaper way of shipping you run the risks that go along with it. The USPS services are notorious for being delayed, but I have never had any issues. I'll post here for when my fahaka arrives if you like.

I think it is perfectly legit to complain about paying for "priority" mail, which is supposed to be 3 days and it taking longer. I would complain if I paid for "overnight" and it took two days. You shouldn't advertise what you can't deliver. No wonder the good ole USPS is going belly up!!

Oh and petluvr...even if you don't get it tomorrow, you can't file a claim for 30 days. Search the website.

It is not guaranteed in 3 days by ANY means. This is straight from the USPS website:

"Priority Mail Have your item delivered in an average of 2-3 days."

Key word here. AVERAGE. In plain English, on the website.

also from their site and no "average"....

Priority Mail

A simpler way to ship.

Take the guesswork out of shipping with Priority Mail® Flat Rates. Whatever fits in the box or envelope ships for one low rate—anywhere in the United States. There's virtually no weighing or calculating. And your packages reach their destination in 2-3 days.

JRR, yes I am complaining about dry goods not being delivered when they were suppose to be. This is a sponge filter that is going in my 20 long and seeing as how it should have been here yesterday I removed the existing filter yesterday, and have now had to move it back on. As RBishop posted the postal service advertises that priority mail will arrive in 2-3 days as it has always, what really gets me here is the postal service complains that no one uses the service any longer which is why they have had to make cuts, which in turn is why they are blaming delayed posts. Is there any wonder why no one uses their service any longer?
Sabbath: One of these packages is coming from Kens Fish FYI.

I've already ranted about USPS and was going to leave it at that, however, was expecting a shipment of RCS in yesterday so left a cooler, with a 1 gall. ziplock half full of ice cubes, sitting on my doorstep...with a note saying "Please put any packages in the cooler - thank you"

The temp yesterday was 94 degrees and I get home to find my package of RCS sitting on a porch chair in direct sunlight.

I tested the water temp that the RCS were in and it was 89 degrees, over half the RCS were dead.

USPS has a hiring and training policy, another one of their systems that just don't work......

That sucks that so many people have such issues with the USPS. I do agree, that if the service is that bad then it's no wonder they lose business. I also admit, if I don't think sending fish with them is a good risk (IE very expensive fish, or dead of winter shipments) I don't use them.

On a lighter note, my Fahaka puffer showed up ahead of schedule and sassy as hell! Trying to get out of the bag as soon as I took him out of the box!

I have mixed results with USPS, a lot of stuff has gone missing, either being sent to me, or being sent by me, whether it is simply letters or packages, but I also have had them deliver stuff pretty quickly.

Shipping UPS is actually not that much more expensive than USPS.
