And since I live with men and don't care about March Madness I've had a lot of time to just sit and stare at it lately.
JK I stare at it even when my shows are on LOL.
It's a 55 ga... I'm not quite done stocking it because I want to go slow... here's a few pics of it
I love my bamboo
and I dont' know how well it shows up, but I love my bubble wall too. I think it's 28 inches or so, but one half works much better than the other haha. I kinda like that about it too.
I have a few questions... or maybe a lot of them.
Is there too much movement of air in the tank? I have the bubble wall and then this cliche (but I still like him) scuba man who opens this treasure chest every few seconds and releases big air bubbles.. I guess the filter moves the water some too....
My speckled cory LOVES the bubble wall. He spends a ton of time in it going up and down and 'playing' I've even seen the albino cory, the bloodfin tetras, the giant deformed danio, and others though not as often as these listed swimming in the bubbles and then turning around for some more. I love watching it, is that what they're doing though? Just 'playing'? It reminds me of a hawk flying into the wind or soemthing.
I have some fat zebra danios... I'm not going to have babies am I? I thought the only live bearers I had were the guppies and they're supposed to all be boys, and I believe they really are! LOL
Do mystery snails breed? I have a dark one, a yellw one, and and Ivory... I thought the dark one was dead because he wasn't attached to anything and I flipped him over so he could get moving and left for work, but when I got home he was still just laying there not attached at all. I almost took him out but got distracted and next time I looked he was moving. How do I know for sure when a snail is dead?
The only live plants in the tank are 2 bamboo stalks. They look cool. The fake stuff I have serves its purpose but I don't love it. I need to disguise air tubes and then give the shyer fish a place to retreat, so what plants would be good for that, and for a novice like me (no co2 either)
I have a few 'shy' fish. One of the 3 tiger barbs is spending a lot of time in the corner with the plants while the other two swim like I'd imagine is normal. Same with the smallest zebra danio and one of the tetras. They come out sometimes but not like the rest of their kind.
My julii cory is out less than the other two corys too, but he's out more at night, so I'm assuming that's normal and he's not a mornign person?
I thought my giant danio needed a school, btu he was alone at the fish store other than small community fish like mine and hes misshapen. The guy that sold him to us didn't seem concerned that there were no other giants for him to swim with... I'm pretty sure I still have plenty of room for all of them whether he needs 3 or 5 or whatever to be happy. Are fish funny with funny looking schoolmates? Will a giant swim with zebra danios? He kinda does his own thing as it is...
On the way home with the guppies, one of them looked kinda grey and really boring. Now that he's home and has been for a while, he kinda changed to having a darker tail and blueish and yellow accents. What caused him to get so much prettier?
My bf likes the albino tiger barbs a lot. Will they school with the regular tigers too? Who else would make fun additions? I'd like a small pleco of some kind also. One that actually stays kinda small for a pleco that is.
Also, do fish 'sleep' and do they see in color?
OK I'm done for now :lipssealedsmilie:
