Alright... My Significant Other and I have been together for almost 3 years. The anniversary is coming up rather quickly and I'm more or less stumped for ideas. I've given him handmade sorts of things for other occasions like CDs, etc.

Any ideas - and I mean ANY - would be awesome. Either something I could make or something I could buy. Like I said, I'm just utterly stumped. Usually I've got ideas like crazy, but not lately :-S

A huge thanks!! from a baffled girlfriend :)

if your looking for a sentimental gift i dont know how much we can help, and seeing that we dont know what he's like, i dont know how much we can help.

give him a fishtank?

maybe you can make your own fishtank for him, its not too hard (i made my frogs tank)

*sigh* He'd love a fishtank, but he's out of town A LOT, and when he isn't away for work he's at my place, ~2 hours away. So unless there are fish that don't need feeding/cleaning for 3 weeks, that ain't an option.

He works outside for his job and its pretty tough work, lots of tree cutting, hauling gear, etc. He really likes what he does, being outside, in nature and all that. Basically, because of me he's out here. He wasn't able to get a job in the same town as me when I got my job, so he got hired on with a company based a 2 hours from here. The plan is that in a couple months, when his apartment lease is up, that he'll try and get a job here, so at least when he's in town we can live together. Umm what else...?

BTW chunks - I like that last line in your sig - AMEN! lol

Guys are pretty easy to please...how about going out and buying a skimpy little sexy outfit and give yourself as a gift. ;)

That gift would sure work for me. :D

Does he have any hobbies that he enjoys or things he likes to do when he is out of town? I travel a lot of of town also, so my wife bought me a laptop a year ago.

maybe some power tools. Even if a guy isnt into building stuff, he'll like power tools. Owning powertools is confirmation that your a dude, no guy will ever turn down powertools

or you could get him a wheel to a car and say "each anniversary you get a new part"

all jokes aside im sure he'd be happy just to spend the day with you, gifts dont matter that much

ps
yeh, i really do hate the"import scene". I have an interesting story about it, ill post it later

How about a fine custom knife or a nice American made factory knife?? I'm not pushing mine, due to my backlog but there are a lot of custom makers out there with very nice knives, ready to go.

I would be glad to provide you with links to reputable purveyors and makers.

Some really good ideas :) thank you! Last Christmas I assembled a 'Survivor' themed gift, and part of it was a Leatherman multitool, so perhaps I'll hold off on the knives. He's got a laptop already. A powertool of some sort is cool, ditto for an MP3 player. He loves my iPod. He's definitely a gadget guy, lol

As for the outfit, lol, thats a given :p
