I just did a quick google search using the words craigslist, Nigeria, paypal and scam.

What you are describing:

apparently the money won't go to my account if i dont email the paypal ppl teh tracking number and scanned copy of the recipt

Is part of the scam! They use a hacked paypal account, you send the merchandise and then the funds are removed from your account.

I would Never ship to Nigeria.... Its generally a scam and its done on expensive items. I had one try this on an expensive mobile fone. We had recieved warning prior to the end of the auction. Something to do with ghosting your paypal account so it looks like the payment has been made. Ebay refunded our charges and allowed us to relist our item.

Many sellers on ebay and the like will not ship to africa, as is listed on many business accounts and personal accounts alike.

How did someone from Nigeria find your ad on your local craiglist?

They search all of craigslist to run these scams we had something on our local tv station about these scams that people where I live actually fell for and lost money or worse deposited bad checks that were way over what they were selling item for then sent item and money to scammer. One lady on there was in serious trouble due to depositing a bad check worth thousands and the bank dont care if you got scammed they want there money and will prosecute you to get it.
