i am thinking of getting a freshwater clam and i have an electric yellow and a texas cichlid. where i read about it it said they dig through the substrate and hide for protection. i just wanted to make sure from all of u guys here at aquaria central. would the clam be ok. also what about a trap door sanil and a black mystery snail. would they be ok also?

I've seen snails live w/ cichlids, and i've seen them become food. not sure about the clams though.

Most people here will go to more than one sub-forrum(freshwater, cichlids, etc.) so double posting will only spread out your answers.

Freshwater clams are notorious for dying very quickly. I would avoid them. They are more of a filter feeder and it is hard to keep the level of nutrients high enough for them. If you go with snaisl go witht he biggest you can find. I have, however, heard of Oscars killing off full grown Apple Snails.

well thanks a bunch for telling me about my texas. like i didnt know. its only like an inch long so calm down.
