So feeding the guys today, I looked down from the top of my tank, and noticed little tiny, white specks jumping around on the surface of the water. Since I have so many floating plants, its like a paradise for whatever these critters/copepods are. To the best of my searching, I am guessing springtails? They are harmless, I'm wondering if the hatchetfish or any other at surface will notice. Anyone else ever have little hopping, barely visible specks on their aquarium water/floating plants? Is my guess right, or could this be anything else?

That'd be my guess, I've had "jumping specks" a few times & I assumed springtails too. As long as your fish don't jump right out of the tank (as hatchets are prone to do, lol) I'm sure they'd be fine if they caught any.

I agree with fishorama.

I kinda like it too, lol I always love the whole ecosystem thing going on in the tank, makes me feel like its extra healthy in there. I feel my hatchets haven't noticed it yet lol, but give it time Im sure.
