35 gallon tank, 3 danios, 6 tiger barbs.
I noticed ich on the tiger barbs Monday night. Treated with rid ich and that night the smallest died. The next morning 2 more barbs died. The danios show no signs of ich. Took carb out of ungravel filter and turned top filter off since the carb is inside the filter. Was that a good thing? The water is cloudy that's why I'm asking. Now I see no signs of Ich but read that it's good to still treat. How long should I treat? This is keeping me busy enough and this morning my son says "I'm buying guppies for my 10 gallon tank this weekend". It's not even set up! He has no clue what I've been going thru with this whole cycling/ich problem.
I'm going to be doing a water change and put some more rid ich in.
Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear about all the stress you are going through with this tank... I remember when I started my first tank, had simmular problems as you in regards to ICK, and cloudy water...

As for what to continue doing, Do what you've aleardy said, do a water change and if the directions on the meds say to continue, do so for how ever long treatment is soposed to last for.

As for taking out the carbon, that is the right thing to do, at least that's what I have read/been told. Just while you are medicating, after that, replace the carbon into the tank.

Good Luck,
mt_marcy!
