How much salt and heat should I use in my 55 gallon newly planted aquarium to treat for ich? I've had 1tbsp per 5 gallons in at 82 degrees for the last 10 days, and all the spots just came off yesterday, but now I'm wondering if I can intensify the treatment for a bit without hurting the plants? I want to make sure I get the suckers! (ich). The tetras got the ich shortly after I moved them to this tank from the temporary tank they were in while the 55 was being transformed for plants - so I'd say the stress of the move was the probable culprit. Can I safely intensify a bit without hurting the plants and fish?
In the tank:
1 common pleco
6 black neon tetras (they had the ich)
1 upside-down catfish
plants:
Anubis, java fern, pennywort?, dwarf sag., and something else I don't know the name of.
water:
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
10 nitrate
