I have a mild case of Ich, and I have bought a bottle of Interpret anti white spot+, it says on the label that it may stain rocks and decor, I have a lot of artificial plants, an artificial mangrove root and lots of slate. If I remove all this stuff it will really stress out the fish and may make things even worse, please advise.

Just discovered some ich on some of my fishes. Going to do the aquarium salt route and raising temp instead of chemicals. Is it a one time thing or have to add salt at intervals?

After doing a bit of research Iam going for the salt and high tempreture method. Salt a 1tbls per gallon, started by uping temp to 80F, adding 25tbls of salt to a 57 gallon tank. 12 hours late I have added another 10tbls. Then finally in 12 hours time up temp to 82F and add another 15tbls of alt. I shall try this out for two weeks. If no luck I will try a medication, not white spot+, I thing this is only suitable for a QT. I believe it even discolours the aquarium glass.

I've used the Interpet Anti-White spot remedy without it staining anything - I take it you're in the UK, where we don't have Maracyn to the best of my knowledge?

There is also the option of the Waterlife med - something-zin, probably Protozin.

What type of salt are you supposed to use? Is it Aquarium salt for marine tanks or table salt? I know it's probably a stupid question but what can I say, I'm an idiot;)

Any salt, for this particular purpose.
