My tank has been completly established now for about 2 weeks. Its a 10 gal with 2 platys, 4 pygmy cories, and 2 "mystery" snails. The fish look great and are eating well (i feed then a very varied diet). Unfortunatly im seeing two what look like very very small ich spots on one of hte platys fins. I would like to use the salt and heat method, since its worked in the past, but is this okay for the corys, snails and plants? I have 2 amazon swords, a java fern, 5 assorted crypts, 2 unkowns (grows straight up with green leaves with white ribbons unwrapping off the stalk) and a patch some sort of short modular grass. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm not sure about the Corys, but the snails and plants will definitely not like the increased salt.
The Java Fern and Crypts will do okay, but the rest of the plants will most likely die off due to increased salt levels.

I disagree. Salt and heat for limited treatment use as for Ich, will not adversely affect either the Cory cats or the snails or the plants.
I used salt on my 20g skunk loach tank when I first set it up. These could be considered sensitive fish but they were fine. So was the purple cabomba I had in there.
Considering that Epsom Salt is a main macro using in plant fertilization, I don't think you'll have a problem with the salt densities. If you have scale-less, it might be an issue (elephantnose sp., it seems, will keel over with the correct amount of Epsom for plant growth).
Epsom salt, MgSo4 is not at all the same issue as table Salt, NaCl. two entirely different chemical compounds. Salt will be fine with snails, fish, bio-filter and so on with short term treatment. As RTR said it won't hurt. Long term salt use is an entirely different issue.
